LFMM Testimonies - Larry Imbro

Hebrews 9:16 "For where a covenant is, there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it."

I was in a bad car accident in February 1997. So bad that when people came up to the car they were saying no one could be alive. But I said "NO we're in here". (I was with my youngest son.) I rear ended a black pick up truck at night, the guy didn't have any lights on. I looked over at my son for a second who was falling asleep looked up, got out the word "Oh Sh" that's all, and bang at 50 miles an hour. After I woke up, the car was coasting on the shoulder. I stopped and couldn't move. the steerring wheel was right up against me. I walked away with bruised ribs and stomach muscles. My son lost teeth and his jaw was pushed in. My grandmother, who is a devout cathlic, told me "you know why you're not dead? God has something for you. Go find out what it is". So my girlfriend and I went to the phonebook and looked up Churches. We found four and was going to go to one each of the next four Sundays. CCOB (Calvary Chapel Old Bridge) was first. We didn't go anywhere else. That was April of the same year. At the time i was an alcoholic and a drug addict. But I went to Church and to a mens group, fooling everyone. I kept reading the word and drinking, sometimes I would do cocaine while reading the bible, so i could read it longer. In November of that year I went up and gave my brain to the Lord. My girlfriend was happy so it was good. My conversion came on September 5th of the next year. I was having a party at my house, having a Nebuchadnezzar moment. Look at all this, everyone having a great time, look what I did. Then I heard a voice. "You don't need this any more". NO ONE WAS NEAR ME! Chills ran through me. I sobered up in an insstant, and poured out my drink. I never had a withdrawl. The Following Wednesday night I was hoping pastor Lloyd Pulley would do redeadications. He gave the altar call, I waited. No one responded, and then he almost called it a night, when he said, "I feel there are still some here" and I went up while he was still talking. First there was one person up there, then a minute later there was about 20 people behind me. I never looked back. Good ole days, no way. Every day now are the good ole days. At this writing it's been 11 years 8 months and 11 days and still free. Jesus did that. All three of my children excepted Christ (right now prodigals) but we're praying for their return. The Lord gave me a new life, a new wife, I can't imagine ever being with out Him.

IN HIM Big Daddy

1Pe 5:8 "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." 1Pe 5:9 " But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world."
